About US

Santa Barbara School of Squash (SBSOS) is an urban youth enrichment program combining academic tutoring, squash instruction, community service, and mentoring in order to increase the opportunities and resources available to disadvantaged youth in our city.
SBSOS aims to provide consistent and reliable academic and athletic support and guidance to the children and families attending schools in Santa Barbara. By exposing these children, who are committed to self-improvement to squash and other educational experiences, SBSOS aims to help each child realize his or her academic and personal potential.
At the beginning of the school year, a new group of 5th or 6th grade students are selected from Santa Barbara elementary schools through a try-out process and are given scholarships to the program. It is our desire that they continue to participate in the program through the age of 25. We continue to support our students through their college years and beyond. We are a part of their family!
The Santa Barbara School of Squash is based out of the Santa Barbara Athletic Club, the Santa Barbara YMCA and the Neighborhood Center.
